RNS Number : 1275C Thomas Cook Group PLC 06 November 2009 6 November 2009 Thomas Cook Group plc Board Appointment Thomas Cook Group plc ("Thomas Cook") today announces that Sam Weihagen has been appointed to the Board as Deputy to the Group CEO, Manny Fontenla-Novoa, with immediate effect. In taking this role, he has deferred his retirement and will continue as CEO Northern Europe. Mr. Weihagen, a Swedish national, has 34 years' experience in the travel industry and has been in the role of CEO Northern Europe since 2001. He was formerly an Executive Director of MyTravel Group plc for three years prior to the merger in 2007. He is a member of the Group Executive Board and Chairman of the Tour Operating Federation in Sweden. Thomas Cook Group plc Chairman, Michael Beckett, said, "The Board recognises Sam's extensive knowledge of the global travel industry and welcome him to this new role. The Board and senior management will benefit greatly from his valuable insight, experience and operational success." 	Achy, I think this is a 'natural drop' at this time of the year and Morgan is just reacting mechanically. TCG usually picks up again by the end of the month - early dec. 	Interesting that Morgan Stanley are changing their view on TCG as they have never had a view on the stock. Not at least publicly in the last 3 years The sell volumes are quite low for such a drop so in my view they are trying to spook the market in order to get in on the cheap.
