Carry on Sir Alex!

Jose Mourinho may be the 10/3 favourite to become the next United manager after the "Special One" claimed he would love to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson, but Betfred boss and United fan Fred Done believes it will be at least another three years until the Old Trafford gaffer calls it a day.

Fred Done said, "Sir Alex Ferguson is the only special one for me. We are of a similar age, and just as I'm continuing as a bookmaker, I can't see Sir Alex walking away from Old Trafford for a few years, there's too many trophies to be won. I'm just relieved the shrewd Scot is not a bookie because I would be skint with that competition!"

The world's biggest independent bookmaker also thinks it won't be the former Chelsea boss when the time does come for Sir Alex to retire.

"Although we have Mourhino as favourite he would not be my choice. David Moyes has done a fabulous job at Everton and has all the characteristics of a United boss for me. You never know they might go for an internal promotion and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing a great job for the reserves."
